The Chelmsford Police Department is pleased to announce the transition from the Taser 7 to the advanced Taser 10, marking a significant upgrade in our non-lethal use-of-force options. This new equipment will enhance officer safety and effectiveness while improving public safety outcomes.
The Taser 10 offers a range of benefits, including an increased range of up to 45 feet, enhanced precision, and improved charge capacity. It also allows for more effective de-escalation in critical situations, with its ability to deploy additional probes, offering greater flexibility to officers in rapidly evolving scenarios.
Sgt. Nicholas Ziminsky emphasized the importance of this new tool for officers, stating, “The Taser 10 provides our officers with a more reliable and accurate tool in high-stress situations. Its extended range and increased capacity ensure that we can better protect our community while using non-lethal methods to resolve conflicts. This upgrade enhances our ability to keep both the public and our officers safe.”
