A Message From the Chief
It is my distinct honor and privilege to serve as Chief of Police for the Town of Chelmsford. Having dedicated more than 27 years to the Chelmsford Police Department and having served in every rank within the organization, I have had the unique opportunity to understand both the evolving needs of our community and the high expectations our residents place upon their Police Department.
As Chief, my commitment is to ensure that the Chelmsford Police Department continues to be a professional, ethical, accountable, and forward-thinking law enforcement agency. Our mission extends beyond responding to calls for service and enforcing the law. We must remain proactive in addressing quality-of-life concerns, preventing and deterring crime, improving traffic and pedestrian safety, and providing meaningful services to those who need our assistance most.
A central focus of my leadership is strengthening the relationship between our Police Department and the community we proudly serve. Effective community policing is built on trust, communication, accessibility, and collaboration. We will continue to invest in community partnerships, youth engagement, officer wellness, professional development, technology, and innovative approaches to public safety. At the same time, we will remain responsive and adaptive as the needs and challenges facing Chelmsford continue to evolve.
I am equally committed to developing our personnel and fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, mentorship, and continuous improvement. A strong police department is built upon the dedication and professionalism of its members. By providing our officers with the training, resources, leadership, and support necessary to succeed, we strengthen not only our department, but the quality of service we provide to every resident, business, and visitor.
Public safety is a shared responsibility. The success of the Chelmsford Police Department depends upon strong partnerships with our residents, businesses, Town departments, elected officials, schools, public safety agencies, and community organizations. I look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with these partners to address challenges, identify opportunities, and ensure that Chelmsford remains a safe, welcoming, and vibrant community in which to live, work, and visit.
After more than 27 years of serving this community, I remain as committed to Chelmsford as I was on my first day with the Police Department. It is a privilege to lead an exceptional group of men and women who dedicate themselves every day to protecting and serving this community. Together, we will continue to build upon the proud history of the Chelmsford Police Department while preparing for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
