Become a Police Officer

The Chelmsford Police Department comprises 55 sworn officers dedicated to safeguarding and
serving the 36,000 residents of the town. Positioned approximately 35 minutes north of Boston,
Chelmsford spans 23 square miles.

Our department provides comprehensive benefits, including educational incentives, ample
vacation and sick time, a clothing allowance, 12 paid holidays, a 6% annual EMT stipend,
longevity pay, fitness bonuses, competitive detail rates, access to fitness facilities, and a policy
