CHELMSFORD, MA — The Town of Chelmsford Police Department is pleased to announce the addition of two new employees who will strengthen services for both residents and their pets, as well as enhance behavioral health support in the community.
Animal Control Officer – Matthew DeCiero
Chelmsford welcomes Matthew DeCiero as the Town’s new Animal Control Officer. Matthew previously served as an Animal Control Officer in the towns of Rutland and Holden and is a graduate of the Animal Control Officers Association of Massachusetts (ACOAM) Academy (Class of 2022). With over 25 years of experience caring for and working with a variety of animal breeds, as well as being a dedicated pet owner himself, Matthew brings extensive knowledge and compassion to his role.
Co-Response Clinician – Hannah Gilbert
The Chelmsford Police Department is also excited to welcome Hannah Gilbert as the new Co-Response Clinician for Chelmsford and Tyngsborough, joining the department’s Behavioral Health Unit. Hannah brings valuable experience as an outpatient mental health therapist, childcare worker, and social worker at an adult day health center, where she provided support to individuals with diverse medical and psychiatric needs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rivier University and a Master of Social Work from Simmons University.
These two hires represent Chelmsford’s ongoing commitment to providing professional and compassionate services that meet the diverse needs of the community. The department looks forward to the positive impact that Matthew and Hannah will have in their respective roles.
