George and Rebecca Tyros Retire After Distinguished Careers of Service

Chelmsford, MA – Effective July 31, 2024, the Chelmsford Police Department proudly announces the retirement of Detective George Tyros and Detective Rebecca “Becky” Tyros, who have collectively served our community with dedication and distinction for decades. Detective George Tyros began his career with the Chelmsford Police Department in January 1995, followed by Detective Becky Tyros, who joined in June 1999.

Throughout their careers, both George and Becky have been instrumental in enhancing the department’s effectiveness and community outreach. As detectives, they have been pivotal in numerous investigations, demonstrating exceptional skill and commitment. In addition, Becky Tyros made a lasting impact by founding the school resource officer program at Chelmsford High School, which has been vital in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students.

Both George and Becky shared their extensive knowledge and experience with the Chelmsford Public Schools, frequently speaking to students about the dangers of drugs and abuse. Their efforts have been invaluable in promoting awareness and prevention in the community.

As they step into retirement, we extend our deepest gratitude and best wishes to George and Becky. Their contributions to the Chelmsford Police Department and the community will be remembered and appreciated for years to come. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement!
