December is National Impaired Driving Prevention Month, which raises awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and implements strategies for people to get home safely. Impaired driving is heightened during the holiday season, and the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration (NHSTA) reports that 13,524 people died in alcohol-impaired driving traffic deaths in 2022.
Chelmsford Police reminds the community of the department’s Tow Drunk To Drive program – held in partnership with the Chelmsford Police Athletic League and Christopher’s Towing – which offers a free ride home with a free tow to anyone who has had too much to drink in Chelmsford this holiday season.
From now until Jan. 1, anyone who has had too much to drink at an establishment in Chelmsford can call Chelmsford Police at (978) 256-2521, or Christopher’s Towing at (978) 452-7433 to receive a free ride home and a complimentary tow to any location in the Merrimack Valley.
