CHELMSFORD, MA — The Chelmsford Police Department is proud to once again participate in the Pink Patch Project during the month of October, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Pink Patch Project is a nationwide public safety initiative that raises awareness about breast cancer while supporting life-saving research, treatment, and education. Each participating agency designs and sells a special edition pink version of its uniform patch, with proceeds donated to cancer research organizations.
Since its inception, the Pink Patch Project has grown into a powerful grassroots campaign:
- – 1.5 million patches sold
- – Over $2 million raised for breast cancer research and treatment
- – 966 participating agencies across the country (and growing)
Massachusetts is proud to be part of this effort with its own Massachusetts Pink Patch Project Chapter , which unites law enforcement and public safety agencies across the state to support cancer research and care.
In Chelmsford, Pink Patches are available for $10 each, with all proceeds donated directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Community members can purchase patches in two ways:
- – Online: Through the Chelmsford Police Department’s Square site at https://chelmsford-police-department.square.site/
- – In person: At the Records Window at the Chelmsford Police Department, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the United States, and the Pink Patch Project aims to increase awareness of early detection and prevention, while raising funds that fuel research and support services for patients.
The Chelmsford Police Department invites all residents and community members to join the effort by proudly displaying a Pink Patch. Together, we can help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
