Officers DiPersio and Johnson Sworn In at Chelmsford Police Department

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chief Colin Spence is pleased to announce the swearing-in of two new police officers, Officer Joshua DiPersio and Officer Landon Johnson, during a ceremony held yesterday, September 15th, in the Community Room at the Chelmsford Police Department. The officers were officially sworn in by Assistant Town Clerk Maria Companion.

Officer Joshua DiPersio graduated last week from the 8th Recruit Officer Course (ROC) at the Fitchburg State University Police Academy. A Tyngsboro native, Officer DiPersio’s journey to the badge was highlighted in his recent academy graduation announcement. He now begins his service to the Chelmsford community as a full-time patrol officer.

Officer Landon Johnson grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire, and holds both an Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University. He has been serving as a police officer with the Fitchburg State University Police Department since 2023 and also works part-time with the Rowley Police Department. Prior to his law enforcement career, Officer Johnson was employed at Lahey Clinic, where he developed valuable experience in community service and public safety.

The Chelmsford Police Department now begins the process of field training for its newest officers, ensuring they are fully prepared to uphold the department’s commitment to safety, service, and community partnership.
