FITCHBURG, MA — The Chelmsford Police Department is proud to announce the addition of a new officer to its ranks. On Friday, September 12, 2025, Officer Josh DiPersio graduated from the 8th Recruit Officer Course (ROC) at the Fitchburg State University Police Academy.
Officer DiPersio successfully completed the 17-week academy, which is part of a distinctive program offered through Fitchburg State University. This pathway allows students to enroll in the Criminal Justice program as freshmen, continue through their academic coursework, and ultimately complete the police academy as part of their degree program. Graduates earn both their police academy certification and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Officer DiPersio will be officially sworn in at the Chelmsford Police Department on Monday, September 15, 2025.
