On Monday, May 6, 2024, Officer Jake Hartshorn was sworn in during a ceremony held at the Chelmsford Police Department Community Room. Among those present were department members, town representatives, as well as family and friends.
Jake graduated from the Northern Essex Police Academy May 3rd, which spanned 26 weeks of intense preparation. He is now embarking on a 12-week field training program to equip him for working in the patrol division.
Jake is already familiar with the Chelmsford Police Department, having joined as a public safety dispatcher in May 2023, where he demonstrated exceptional skill. Additionally, he graduated from Framingham State University in 2023 and Chelmsford High School in 2019.
